How to Set Up Automatic Chatlog Tags

Guide on How to Set Up Automatic Chatlog Tags for Better Organization

Automatic chatlog tags help you categorize conversations based on their content, enabling better organization, routing, and notification workflows. This feature automatically applies relevant tags to chatlogs when specific topics or themes are detected in user messages.

This feature requires a Pro plan (Turbo subscription and higher) to be available.

Step 1: Access Tag Management

Go to your chatbot dashboard and click on "Edit Chatbot".

Navigate to the "Tags Tab" in your chatbot settings.

Step 2: Create Your Tags

Click "Add New Tag" to create a new tag for automatic categorization.

Enter your tag details:

  • Tag Name: Choose a descriptive name for your tag

  • Description: Provide context about what conversations should receive this tag

  • Click "Save" to create the tag

Step 3: Enable Automatic Tagging

Find your created tag in the tag list and toggle the "Automatic Tagging" switch to ON.

Step 4: Configure Email Notifications (Optional)

If you want to receive email notifications when this tag is detected:

  1. Click "Configure Email Recipients" for the tag

  2. Enter email addresses that should receive notifications

  3. Click "Save" to confirm

How Automatic Tagging Works

Once enabled, your chatbot will:

  • Analyze incoming messages using AI to determine which tags apply

  • Automatically apply relevant tags to the chatlog in real-time

  • Send email notifications to configured recipients when tags are detected

  • Support multiple tags on a single conversation for comprehensive categorization

Managing Tagged Chatlogs

View and filter your tagged conversations:

  • Go to your Chatlogs section in the dashboard

  • Use the tag filter to view conversations by specific tags

  • Review tag statistics to understand conversation patterns

Best Practices for Tag Creation

  • Use descriptive names: Choose clear, specific tag names like "Technical Support" or "Billing Questions"

  • Provide detailed descriptions: Help the AI understand when to apply tags with comprehensive descriptions

  • Start with common topics: Begin with your most frequent conversation types

  • Test and refine: Monitor tag accuracy and adjust descriptions as needed
